Laurel Residence Bangsar South review: is it worth buying or renting?

Laurel Residence brings the newest facility standard in Bangsar South into a township that is already mature. It will not suit buyers who insist on freehold tenure or a doorstep LRT station.

For buyers and tenants who value newer finishes, wellness and co-working facilities and a lower entry price, it is one of the more compelling completed options in the area.

How close is Laurel Residence to the LRT?

Laurel Residence sits within Bangsar South City, UOA Group’s integrated township, so the park, retail podiums and offices were already established before it completed. It is further from the rail line than some neighbours: Universiti LRT is roughly 900 metres away along Jalan Kerinchi, about a 12-minute walk, and Kerinchi LRT is about 1.2 km.

To bridge that gap, a complimentary shuttle bus runs to Universiti LRT from 8am to 8pm on weekdays. See the Bangsar South transportation guide for other options.

  • Universiti LRT ~900 m · ~12 min walk
  • Kerinchi LRT ~1.2 km
  • Free shuttle to Universiti LRT 8am–8pm weekdays
  • Nexus Bangsar South & The Sphere Walking distance
  • Mid Valley Megamall & The Gardens Short drive
  • Federal Highway & NPE Via Kerinchi Link

As a later-phase project, Laurel Residence’s towers have more separation from the office blocks, giving many units open views towards the surrounding greenery.

Is Laurel Residence a good buy in 2026?

Laurel Residence is now a completed building inside an established township, so buyers can inspect the actual finished unit rather than a show gallery.

Why it works

  • Backed by UOA Group, the developer behind South View and the Bangsar South township
  • Completed, with no construction risk left
  • Newest facility standard in the township, including co-working and wellness areas
  • Lower entry price than Bangsar South’s freehold options
  • Broad tenant pool of office workers, expats and university-linked tenants

What to check

  • Leasehold, unlike freehold South View, South Link and Novum
  • No rental track record yet, as it only completed in December 2025
  • Not next to the LRT: ~900 m to Universiti LRT, or the weekday shuttle
  • Maintenance fee of about 33 sen psf is on the higher side for the area

Who should consider Laurel Residence?

  • Hybrid workers who will use the co-working lounge and wellness facilities
  • Upgrading families looking at the 853 – 903 sq ft 3-bedroom units
  • Investors comfortable with leasehold who want a lower entry price and newer facilities
  • Landlords targeting office workers and university-linked tenants
